A Japanese movement. A watch that exists in no catalogue.
We started from a simple idea: the best automatic movements in the world have spent decades locked inside the same ten designs. We take them out of there.
At MODKEI we work with genuine Seiko movements —NH35 and NH36, the same automatic calibres that drive watches costing thousands of euros— and we fit them into cases, dials and hands selected one by one. Sapphire crystal, 316L steel, finishes inspected under a loupe. Every watch is assembled, regulated and tested by hand before it leaves the workshop.
What we sell
- Finished Seiko Mod watches, in short runs and one-off editions
- Custom orders: you choose the dial, hands, bezel and strap; we build it
- Modification service on your own watch
We do not manufacture at volume and we have no intention of doing so. We would rather sell a few well-made watches than many identical ones.
What you need to know
We are an independent workshop. Our watches are not original Seiko products and they are not manufactured, distributed, endorsed or warranted by Seiko Corporation. Only the movement is a genuine Seiko component; the rest of the watch is our own design and assembly. Seiko's official warranty does not apply to a modified watch — we stand behind it ourselves, with our own warranty.
